The Regional Management Office is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The Management Office supports the political leadership and administrations to ensure that the political direction is implemented in the various operations of Region Uppsala, allowing the region to fulfill its role both regionally and nationally. The Management Office is led by the regional director and has a governing, supportive, and coordinating role in Region Uppsala. The Management Office includes the departments for finance and governance, regional development, IT, HR, health and medical care, information and communication, as well as planning and development.

Our Operations

Region Uppsala is responsible for health and medical care, public transport, regional development, and culture in Uppsala County. The IT department is part of the Management Office and works to develop and manage a stable, secure, and future-oriented digital infrastructure. Your Mission

We are looking for someone who wants to take full responsibility for our server infrastructure, with a particular focus on the VMware platform. You will be responsible for the Server Infrastructure service, which includes server hotels, containers, and backup solutions. The role involves platform work in VMware, management of VMware VCF, automation, VSAN, and NSX for network virtualization. Experience with VxRail is a plus. You will also work with Tanzu Kubernetes for container management and Rubrik CDM for backup. You will be involved in the operation, development, and optimization of the environment. As the technical responsible, you will handle documentation, market monitoring, forecasts, and training materials related to the service. You will be part of an engaged team where your colleagues and you have different specialties but work closely together in daily operations, projects, and innovation. The work is done in close collaboration with operational representatives and other IT specialists.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least five years of experience in advanced work with the VMware platform and server infrastructure. You have deep knowledge of VMware VCF, VSAN, automation, and NSX, as well as experience with container technologies (in Tanzu Kubernetes) and backup solutions (in Rubrik CDM). Experience with VxRail is a plus. You are accustomed to documenting, making forecasts, and developing plans for future development. You have good communication skills, work independently and in a structured manner, and thrive in an environment where technology and collaboration are in focus.
